Abstract

Two new species of the genus Ochthebius (Hydraenidae: Ochthebiinae) from the peninsular region of Araya, Sucre State are described (Northeast of Venezuela), collected manually in two brackish water environments. Both species are included in the bisinuatus group, which includes the Ochthebius species with the bisinuated anterior margin and whose members are only found in the Neartic region, now represented in the Neotropical region. Habitus, sclerites and satellite images that identify the locality are illustrated.
